Cambridge Avenue is a major artery linking the growing cities of Liverpool and Campbelltown. However, the road still sits a mere few metres above the water line of the Georges River and is regularly blocked when it rains.
The causeway at Cambridge Avenue is a relic of the past and must be upgraded.
Congestion is on the rise and with the arrival of the Moorebank Intermodal Terminal this situation will only grow worse.
"The upgrade is listed as a Priority Initiative by Infrastructure Australia who, unlike the Government, recognises with the development of the Moorebank Intermodal, more congestion will be added to this already inadequate thoroughfare.
"Like so many other important infrastructure projects in South Western Sydney - I call on the Government to get on with the job and fix Cambridge Avenue."
