Welcome to this weeks e-Newsletter!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break and are currently enjoying the school holidays.

Many in our community will be celebrating Orthodox Easter this Sunday and Eid next week. I would like to wish you all a happy and safe celebration.

The Albanese Government is currently working on the May budget and we will be confronting our immediate challenges, preparing for the future and safeguarding our economy.

Protecting Our Cultural And Historical Institutions

The Albanese Government is securing the future of Australia’s most cherished cultural and historical institutions after they endured a decade of chronic underfunding under the former Coalition Government.

This investment of $535.3 million over four years will guarantee ongoing, indexed funding into the future to ensure that vital repairs and urgent safety improvements can finally be made and staff can have ongoing certainty about their jobs.

Funding For The Greater Bilby

The Albanese Government is committed to protecting our unique environment and native animals.

The Greater Bilby is listed as vulnerable and now only inhabit 15% of our land, down from almost two-thirds.

Before Easter the Albanese Government announced a new plan, with an investment of $5 million, to guide the protection and recovery of the Greater Bilby. That includes funding of almost $1.6 million to manage threats to bilbies in Central Australia, especially from fire and feral predators.

The new Recovery Plan has been prepared by Indigenous organisations and communities, conservation groups, zoos and wildlife organisations, researchers and governments.

Vietnam War Commemorative Medallion

2023 marks 50 years since the end of Australia's involvement in the Vietnam War and the Australian Government has launched a commemorative medallion to honour those who served.

Commemorative medallions are available to every Vietnam veteran, widows of veterans and other family members of veterans.

Ramadan Eid Exhibition

I was invited to open the Ramadan Eid Exhibition held by the Sydney Bangalee Inc. in Minto.

It is great to see so many local businesses come together to serve our community and raise money for charity.

The Ramadan Eid Exhibition will be held again on the 15th and 16th April from 11am to 9pm at Greg Percival Hall, Ingleburn.
