Win for Macquarie Fields Lift Upgrades

Since I was elected I have been hearing from the people of Macquarie Fields about the need for lifts to make the station accessible to young families and those with mobility issues.

Announced last week, NSW Labor, if it forms government, will ensure that this long overdue upgrade happens.

This is great news for the community of Macquarie Fields. I thank Anoulack Chanthivong MP, member for Macquarie Fields, for all his advocacy on this issue!

Housing Australia Future Fund

The Albanese Government’s landmark housing legislation is one step closer and has passed the House of Representatives.

This will be the single largest investment in social and affordable housing by the federal government in more than a decade.

I spoke in the House on the importance of this legislation and what it will deliver.

Local Disaster Resilience Funding

I welcome the recent joint Commonwealth and State funding of $150,000 to the City of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. to help local businesses develop Business Continuity Plans to prepare for future natural disasters.

The funding is part of the $29 million Disaster Risk Reduction Fund that will help communities recover quicker in the face of more frequent and devastating natural disasters.
