$150,000 in funding available for local community groups in Werriwa

June 19, 2017

Anne Stanley, Federal Member for Werriwa, today announced the opening of expressions of interest for round three of the Commonwealth Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.

This year, up to a total of $150,000 of funding, or 20 projects, will be available in Werriwa for small capital projects which improve community participation and contribute to the vibrancy of our local community.

Anne Stanley MP, Federal Member for Werriwa, said “only last week I hosted the 2017 Werriwa Volunteer of the Year Awards, which showed the incredible contribution of community organisations and their volunteers to the South-West Sydney region.”

“The Stronger Communities Programme will provide further assistance to these organisations and ensure they can continue to perform their vital services to the community.”

“If this Programme sounds like something you or your organisation may be interested in, please submit an expression of interest to [email protected] that includes the following information:

  • Name of club/group/organisation
  • What you would like to spend the funding on?
  • How much funding is required? How much can be matched by your organisation? Will this be cash, or in-kind?”

Expressions of Interest close on Sunday 6 August 2017.

Grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 are available for each capital project. To be eligible, the projects require matched contributions, in cash or in kind, and nominees must be a legal entity and have an ABN.  Local government and incorporated not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply.

Further information can be obtained by contacting Anne’s office on 9829 7477.
