FEDERAL BUDGET IS A MISSED OPPORTUNITY
Good government changes lives.
The policies and decisions of good government can make all the difference. They build a strong economy and a fair society. They open the door to education, employment, good housing, proper health care and a better life.
This week the Federal Government handed down their 8th consecutive Federal Budget.
“Disappointingly the Budget features $100 billion of spending and a record $1 trillion debt. Australians on modest incomes will only receive a temporary tax break before the election while the highest income earners will enjoy a permanent tax cut.
“The Government has handed down a budget that does not plan for the future.” Ms Stanley said.
In the Budget reply last night Leader of the Opposition, Anthony Albanese, outlined Labor’s plan for the country.
Labor will build social and affordable housing, invest in apprenticeships, protect Australian workers from exploitation, strengthen laws to prevent sexual harassment at work and invest in young Australians to strengthen our recovery and create a better Australia.
“Just because the recession could have been worse, doesn’t mean the recovery can’t be better.
“Labor’s policies invest in Australians and their future. Australians deserve a good Government that works for them.” Ms Stanley said.
