LOCAL VOLUNTEERS HONOURED FOR THEIR SERVICE TO COMMUNITY
South-Western Sydney volunteers have been honoured by Federal Member for Werriwa, Anne Stanley MP, in the annual Werriwa Volunteer Awards.
The awards recognise work that tireless volunteers undertake throughout Werriwa, with 7 local individuals being awarded by Ms Stanley during National Volunteers Week.
“Australians are known around the world for being such a warm, community-minded people and it is no different in Werriwa” Ms Stanley said.
“Volunteering has been, and always will be, central to our community and is an indication of the love we have for where we live and the people that live in it.
“Volunteers ensure that important community activities can take place such as delivering meals and allowing children to play sport. The work they do is immeasurable.
“I want to congratulate all winners of the Werriwa Volunteer Awards, you make our community the wonderful place it is.” Ms Stanley said.
