Traffic Switch on Elizabeth Drive - M12 Motorway
6 March 2024 marked an important milestone in the M12 Motorway project, with a traffic switch on Elizabeth Drive that will move traffic from the current road to the new Elizabeth Drive Overpass.
The traffic switch will allow for the continued construction of the M12 Motorway which, when completed, will provide a direct connection to the Western Sydney Airport.
The Federal Government has committed $1.6 billion to the $2 billion project, with the remaining funding provided by the NSW Government.
The M12 will serve as a major access route for road users and will provide an estimated $6.4 billion in economic benefits to the local community and the national economy.
The Motorway is expected to be completed by late 2026, in conjunction with the opening of the Western Sydney Airport.
