Training Opportunities for Local Small Businesses
The Albanese Labor Government is supporting local small businesses with more than 20 new short courses designed to build knowledge on tax, super and growth.
In cooperation with small businesses, these courses were designed to reduce the administrative burden on small business and support them in navigating each stage of their journey.
The new courses are available online and for free for small businesses and are open to educators, tax professionals, staff, students, and clients.
Those interested can access these supports at https://smallbusiness.taxsuperandyou.gov.au/.
The ATO provides additional resources in languages other than English which can be accessed at https://www.ato.gov.au/other-languages.
This new initiative builds on the Albanese Labor Government’s support for small businesses which include:
- Targeted energy bill relief up to $650 for around 1 million small businesses in partnership with states and territories.
- Helping startups and small businesses to innovate, commercialise and grow their companies through the $392.4 million Industry Growth Program.
- Supporting small businesses in their energy transition with the Small Business Energy Incentive.
- Investing over $60 million to help small businesses uplift their cyber security and digital capabilities through the Digital Solutions program, Cyber Wardens program, Cyber Resilience Service and a cyber health check.
- The $20,000 instant asset write‑off, which will improve cash flow and reduce compliance costs for small businesses with an annual turnover of less than $10 million, until 30 June 2024, subject to the passage of legislation.
- Supporting small business owners’ mental health and wellbeing through access to $15.1 million in specialised support services that are free for small businesses to access.
