Mixed Messages and Double Standards

The mixed messages and double standards from the NSW Government must come to an end and South-West Sydney residents must stop being treated as an afterthought.

The Premier of New South Wales has again turned her back on our region after refusing to meet with Mayors from "LGAs of concern." She did, however, have enough time to meet with Western Sydney business leaders on the same day.

Since the start of this current Delta outbreak our part of Sydney has been treated differently to the rest of Sydney and NSW. This is very concerning, from the condescending language at press conferences, to essential worker testing, to police enforcement and army presence and the imposition of a curfew just for our part of the Sydney.

This double standard continues to damage small business who are losing contracts to companies in other parts of Sydney and workers who are inconvenienced and may lose work.

This comes on top of the closure of local walk-in vaccination hubs in the Liverpool LGA 2 weeks ago.

It beggar's belief that Liverpool and neighbouring LGAs, which have been identified as areas of concern, have been relieved of their vaccine supply.

It is time for the Premier to demonstrate that we really are in this together and meet with our community leaders and provide proper information of what happens next.

The NSW Government need to provide focussed support for our community and our business owners so that as soon as the restrictions are lifted they can get back to work.

To really fight this health issue, it should one rule for all and equality of access to vaccinations and support.
