I wanted to share some good news with you.

Every Medicare Urgent Care Clinic the Albanese Labor Government promised is now open, and that means more free healthcare closer to home.

These clinics treat urgent but not life-threatening illnesses and injuries, things like a sprained ankle, an insect bite, a fever or a minor infection.

The way they work is simple:

- Bulk billed

- Walk in, with no appointment needed

- Open seven days a week, over extended hours

All you need is your Medicare card, not your credit card.

With the opening of the final clinic, four out of five Australians will now live within a 20-minute drive of a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

These clinics have changed the way Australians access healthcare. That’s why we’ve now made them a permanent part of Medicare, with major investment to keep them open and free.

More than 3.1 million people have used them since 2023, and nearly half of patients say they would otherwise have ended up in an emergency department.

That is what better access to Medicare looks like: care when you need it, where you need it, and free of charge.
