Werriwa Community Forum 2026

On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, I will be hosting a Werriwa Community Forum to help residents connect with various Federal Government departments and agencies.

It will be held at the Carnes Hill Community and Recreation Precinct at 600 Kurrajong Road, Carnes Hill from 10am to 2pm.

Record Jump in Bulk Billing

Patients are seeing immediate benefits with greater access to services with no out of pocket costs. Since 1 November 2025, 8 more practices in Werriwa are now fully bulk billing, rising to 31 GP practices in total (or 91%).

After Labor’s changes, the bulk billing rate for all Australians has jumped to 81.4% nationwide.

This is the largest quarterly jump in bulk billing in 20 years outside of the COVID pandemic.

Patients can find bulk billing practices in their local area by visiting

health.gov.au/bulk-billing and using the service finder.

Participating practices are required to display Medicare Bulk Billing Practice signage at their premises, making it easy for patients to identify.

Unfair Trading Reforms

Labor’s cracking down on businesses that use unfair tactics to manipulate you.

We’re banning sneaky practices like: Hidden fees popping up at the checkout, subscription traps that won’t let you cancel, and tactics designed to confuse you and trick you into spending more.

Companies that break the rules will face multi-million-dollar fines.

No Australian deserves to be ripped off, that’s why Labor is taking action.

One Year On - Delivering for Australian Women

One year ago we made a big promise on women’s health.

Since we made contraceptives, endo and menopause medication cheaper, 660,000 women have saved more than $73 million.

And on top of that, more than 71,000 women have gone and seen their GP for a menopause health assessment - covered by Medicare.

We know there’s still more work to do, and we’re going to keep going - but I’m really proud of the difference this policy has made, only one year on.
