Labor Commits to Long Overdue Lifts at Macquarie Fields Train Station
Federal member for Werriwa, Ms Anne Stanley MP, has welcomed the announcement that a NSW Labor Government would fund a long overdue accessibility upgrade for Macquarie Fields Train Station.
People in Macquarie Fields have been waiting years for a lift at the station, and NSW Labor’s commitment will ensure people with disability, the elderly and people with prams will be able to use their local train station.
“I thank the community and Member for Macquarie Fields Anoulack Chanthivong MP for their continued advocacy for this much-needed infrastructure,” said Ms Stanley.
The upgrade forms part of NSW Labor’s $300 million commitment to the Transport Access Program, to make train stations more accessible, safe and secure for all.
Member for Macquarie Fields, Anoulack Chanthivong MP, said NSW Labor would restore fairness to transport upgrades.
“Labor’s commitment is about righting a wrong – the shameful fact that the Liberal Government ignored its own transport data and blatantly engaged in pork-barrelling.
“A NSW Labor Government will deliver a long overdue lift, and deliver the people of Macquarie Fields their fair share.”
