Local Schools to Receive Funding for School Upgrades and New Equipment
Today I am announcing that nine local schools will benefit from a share of $32 million in grants to upgrade school infrastructure and equipment.
The following local schools will benefit from funding:
- Lurnea Public School – $12,000 to upgrade or improve existing outdoor learning spaces
- Hoxton Park High School - $25,000 to build new outdoor learning spaces
- Heckenberg Public School - $25,000 to purchase and/or upgrade ICT equipment (including laptops and tablets), and provision of flexible learning arrangements for students
- Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School - $25,000 to build new outdoor learning spaces
- Clancy Catholic College - $23,245 to upgrade or improve existing outdoor learning spaces
- Bellfield College - $25,000 to purchase and install air purifiers
- Al-Faisal College – Liverpool - $25,000 to purchase and install air purifiers
- Arrahman College - $25,000 to install and/or upgrade shade structures, and refurbish classrooms
- EDEN College - $9,025 to upgrade an existing outdoor learning space and install a shade structure.
The funding is part of a $250 million commitment to improve school infrastructure.
All schools across the country were invited to apply for the funding and projects were assessed by the Department of Education and selected based on need.
Schools were able to apply for grants of up to $25,000 to support much needed improvements to facilities and learning environments.
The Albanese Labor Government is delivering on our promise to invest in our schools and there is more to come.
