NDIS Legacy Appeal Cases Slashed
The Albanese Labor Government committed to getting the NDIS back on track and ensuring that it supports people with disability. Many Australians were subject to arbitrary cuts in their plans leading many to seek an appeal through the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
Since coming into Government, NDIS legacy appeal cases have been reduced by almost 60 per cent through the overhauled dispute resolution processes.
“Australians with disability should be able to seek a review of their plan without having to go through a complex and lengthy process that can cause unnecessary distress,” said Ms Anne Stanley MP.
The Independent Expert Review (IER) Pathway has assisted NDIS participants resolve disputes regarding NDIS decisions. The program will be further expanded under Phase 2 of the IER pilot.
“This program helps ease the pressure on the AAT and will resolve reviews for NDIS participants, ensuring they can receive the assistance they need as soon as possible”.
The Albanese Government will continue to deliver on its promise to fix the NDIS and ensure that it supports Australians with disability.
