ANNE STANLEY MP
OPPOSITION WHIP
MEMBER FOR WERRIWA
STAY HOME AND GET TESTED
Anne Stanley, Member for Werriwa, has urged residents of South-West Sydney to keep up COVID-19 testing and to continue following the health advice.
NSW has seen 86,620 COVID-19 tests in 24 hours, breaking the NSW record for the third straight day.
“It is essential that we keep testing numbers high and I thank everyone in the community who has come forward for testing.
“Please continue to monitor even the slightest of symptoms and make sure to stay home.”
“Remember symptoms include fever, dry cough, tiredness, difficulty breathing and chest pain.” Ms Stanley said.
Since the beginning of this latest outbreak in Bondi, NSW have recorded 1,782 locally acquired cases with epidemiologists predicting the lockdown to continue through most of August.
“If we stay at home now and keep testing rates high, it will be better in the long run and will reduce the amount of time we will spend in lockdown.
The Chief Health Officer, Kerry Chant, has called for vaccines to be redirected to South-Western Sydney to provide more supply and improve vaccination rates and slow down the virus in the area.
“If you are eligible for the vaccine, please do your best to book an appointment. Getting vaccinated will keep our loved ones and our community safe, and see us out of lockdown.” Ms Stanley said.
