ANNE STANLEY MP
OPPOSITION WHIP
MEMBER FOR WERRIWA
30 March 2022
THE 2022 BUDGET DOESN’T DO ENOUGH FOR WERRIWA
This Budget is a ploy for an election, not a plan for a better future.
“The people of my community need a pay rise, not a patch job Budget that leaves them $26 a week worse off,” said Ms Stanley.
“Nothing in this Budget makes up for a decade of attacks on wages, job security and Medicare.”
“Under the Morrison-Joyce Government petrol prices, the cost of living and Medicare costs are skyrocketing and working families in Werriwa are falling behind.”
“On average they have lost $1,355 because their real wages are going backwards, and this Budget has provided nothing to deal with it.”
“The 2022 Budget also confirms that the Morrison Government has no intention of ever stablishing its long-promised national anti-corruption commission.”
At five minutes to midnight this Government has finally realised that there is a Cost-of-Living problem in Australia but their plans to fix it do nothing to change what is at the root of the problem.
“There’s more than one way to provide cost of living relief to working families, which is why our plans will get power bills down, make healthcare cheaper, and get wages growing properly again,” said Ms Stanley.
