STANLEY: VACCINE DISINFORMATION WILL HURT AUSTRALIA’S RECOVERY

Vaccine disinformation pamphlets, authorised by Clive Palmer, have been letterboxed in South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales, including locally in Werriwa.

Shadow Minister for Health Mark Butler has written to the Australian Electoral Commission seeking advice as to whether the flyer is in breach of the Commonwealth Electoral Act.

Anne Stanley, Federal Member for Werriwa, echoes the Shadow Minister for Health’s concern at these unauthorised and dangerous pamphlets.

“We all need reputable sources of information to help make informed choices. It is normal to have questions and concerns.

“However, disinformation that undermines the advice of public health experts for political influence is never acceptable and I strongly condemn Mr. Palmer’s actions.

“Intentionally causing division in public health can lead to negative outcomes, such as a refusal to take the vaccine which will further hold back the economic recovery that will lead to more jobs.” Ms Stanley said.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has yet to call out Clive Palmer for his callous disinformation tactics.

The Morrison Government is spending over $24 million on advertising the vaccine rollout but their silence on Mr Palmer’s vaccine disinformation is deafening.
