Werriwa to Benefit from Local Disaster Resilience Funding
Thousands of Australians who face bushfires, floods, and cyclones every year deserve to be protected by a federal government who plans ahead and invests to keep them safe, and the Albanese Government is committed to ensuring communities are prepared.
Federal member for Werriwa, Ms Anne Stanley MP, welcomes the joint Commonwealth and State funding of $150,000 to the City of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. to help protect the community against future natural disasters.
The funding will be used to help local businesses develop Business Continuity Plans to prepare in the event of a disaster.
Ms Stanley said “Our community has been affected by several flooding events over the past few years and we know that natural disasters are only growing more common.
“I am pleased that this funding will help local businesses adapt, prepare and mitigate against the effects of natural disasters.”
This funding is part of the $29 million Disaster Risk Reduction Fund better preparing communities and helping them recover quicker from natural disasters.
The Albanese Government is committed to keeping the Werriwa community safe.
