Flags should be treated with dignity and respect as one of Australia's important national symbols. They must be presented by a Member of Parliament. Flags come at a cost to the taxpayer, and are presently more than $100 per flag. A Member of Parliament must consider this as part of their yearly budget restraints.
With an increased interest in provision of flags to the community, the following guidelines are in effect from 1 September 2025.
To be supplied a flag:
1) You must be a constituent of the electorate of Werriwa.
2) It must be formally presented by the Member - an appointment will be made.
3) Priority will be given to veterans, schools, and if an aboriginal flag is requested by first nations people.
4) Requests for flags may be limited by budget constraints and may not be available for every request.
You may request a flag by contacting my office via email at [email protected] or by visiting my Contact Me page, or by phoning 02 8783 0977. Please provide your name and residential address.
