LABOR TO DELIVER NEW COMMUNITY HALL IN LEPPINGTON
Local federal member for Werriwa, Anne Stanley, local federal member for McMahon Chris Bowen, and Labor candidate for Fowler Tu Le announced a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support the delivery of the St Yosip Parish community hall in Leppington.
This $5 million election commitment will contribute to the new hall to be delivered by the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.
The St Yosip Parish community hall will serve as a vital hub for locals, hosting events, support groups, youth programs, educational classes, and more. It will provide a welcoming space for social connection, learning, and practical support.
The St Yosip community hall will strengthen relationships among neighbours, making it a true asset to the area. The community hall is the first step in the community’s longer term plan to build a school and church.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
Quotes attributable to Hon. Chris Bowen MP:
“We’re lucky to live in one of the fastest growing areas of Sydney, and being able to find spaces to bring people together is a great thing.”
“The Assyrian Church plays an important role in fostering the wonderful sense of community we are so lucky to have – the new St Yosip Parish community hall that can be enjoyed by all is proof of their important work.”
Quotes attributable to Anne Stanley MP:
“Our community is a vibrant and diverse and supporting our rapidly growing Assyrian community to find a home to meet and provide support to their youth, families and older members is something I am pleased we can do.
“Community facilities in suburbs like Leppington have not kept up with burgeoning population moving into the area, so projects such as this will provide support to many residents.”
Quotes attributable to Labor Candidate for Fowler Tu Le
“I understand the importance of providing a place for communities to come together to connect and thrive. I'm proud to be part of a Labor Government that is committed to delivering for our growing communities.”

A MUCH-NEEDED UPGRADE FOR HOXTON PARK RESERVE
29 March 2025
A re-elected Albanese Labor Government would deliver $1.026 million for the upgrade of the playing surface and field lighting at Hoxton Park Reserve in Hinchinbrook. The existing electricity infrastructure at the site doesn’t support the basic operations of the Liverpool Olympic Football Club during evening training and activities. This has meant blackouts and electrical fires over recent years.
